Castle Rise 3 v Earls Barton 2
7th December 2008 |
|
To say that we were disappointed with the result a couple of weeks ago bears nothing on this week’s result. I believe that most of the boys went to this game presuming it was going to be an easy win. Castle Rise have had much better results this season and hopefully they will learn not to “presume” and put in 100% effort whoever we are playing. During the first half we didn’t play a good game and marking our man wasn’t part of our strategy!! In the second half for the last 20 minutes Earls Barton had so many chances to finish off the game and come away winning that it was obviously not going to be our day!! By the time we got in to our stride we put a lot of pressure on but I think it was too late by then. We should have done this from the start, with both of our goals being scored by Dayne unfortunately no-one else could add to the tally. A couple of mentions, John Aldridge had a really good game beating their defence down the right hand side on numerous occasions and a fantastic save headed off the line by Joss Carter (don’t think he knew much about it at the time!) meant that the goal difference didn’t increase in their favour. Man of the Match : John Aldridge. |
