EARLS BARTON UNITED FOOTBALL CLUB

Earls Barton 3 v Higham Colts 0

12th October 2008

Friendly

Without a fixture today we arranged a friendly with first division - Higham Colts. Some of the boys were dubious about playing this team as they had beaten us something like 9 - 1 last season. However, the Earls Barton boys had an excellent game and made sure that Higham didn't get many chances on goal.

Corners were our thing today and Nathan Burrows got his head on the receiving end of one towards the back post to give us the lead. We went forward constantly in this game and towards the end of the first half, Keets kept his goal scoring momentum by chipping the keeper to send us 2 nil up.

Ryan Brafield had to stand in as goalkeeper and did an excellent job, leading from the back supporting the defence helped us to play the offside very well today.

The third goal was again scored from a header by Deanno at the near post this time - for someone who plays at left back, he's doing pretty well on the score sheet!!

The boys went out there believing in themselves and determined to get a good result. It was a really good game and they thoroughly deserved the win.
