Earls Barton 6 v Castle Rise 1
15th March 2009 |
|
3 out of 3 boys – well done !!! When they were younger everyone used to say “can I play as a striker” – with the under 15’s it’s getting close on being “can I play in midfield” – why ? cause that’s where we seem to be scoring from at the minute………………… We have started to gel much better on the pitch and everyone got a good amount of time in the game this week without any difference being noticed in the performance whoever was put on or taken off.
As for the match……. Unlucky for Castle Rise but lucky for us, just a few minutes later they were trying to clear their lines with Barton players coming in to the box, when they managed to score an own goal. Our confidence was high by now and on the 12th minute Addis received a good cross in from Keets on the left and booted it in the back of the net. In the 14th minute the ball was played into the box and Kyle headed it backwards in to the path of Wojtek for him to knock home our 4th goal of the game going in to half time. Almost straight from kick off in the second half the ball was played in to the box and no-one was gonna stop Kyle from scoring his goal – scrappy, with Castle Rise trying to clear the ball and Kyle trying to net it, but on this occasion Kyle got his own way and brought the score to 5 – nil. Castle Rise managed to come back with a consolation goal at this point. Aaron - probably still remembering last weeks goal, found a bit of time on the ball from near the half way line and decided to try and “do it again” – and do it again he did…… almost an identical goal from last week that the keeper didn’t stand a chance with. Final score : 6 – 1. Man of the match today goes to Nathan Burrows, he worked very hard today and managed to get forward and make some good crosses but ensured he dropped back to keep his position covered. Did I remember to mention that Kyle Lawrence scored today…………….. Just checking !!! |
