Unfortunately this team were physically more robust and taller than ourselves and were always going to get to the ball first in 50 / 50 situations. However, our lack of effort to close them down was very obvious and at times it seemed like a lot of our players just could not be bothered.

I don’t think that I can pick out many positives from this game only that Ryan Brafield played a good game standing in as goalkeeper - although his missing presence in midfield was very noticeable.

Looking on the bright side (if there is one), I think we have to be honest with ourselves and realise that we were never likely to win this cup and best to have this lack lustre game now rather than in the league. Lets treat it as an extra training session and look forward to next week’s league game and push for the 3 points.
