Kingsthorpe Ladies 3 v Earls Barton 3

The games between these two teams are usually close affairs and this one was no different. Earls Barton took an early lead through Donna Norman on 7 minutes. A long kick from the Barton keeper was layed off by Siana Adams to Donna who chipped it past the advancing keeper. On 38 minutes Barton doubled the lead, another long clearance from the keeper was flicked on by a defender and Siana Adams lobbed the ball over the keeper. Kingsthorpe clawed a goal back just on the stroke of half time. H-T 1-2 After the break Kingsthorpe came into the game more but Barton increased their lead on 68 minutes, Siana Adams flicked the ball out wide to Vicky Farmer who crossed the ball to Donna Norman to shoot high over the keeper and in off the cross bar. Kingsthorpe were not to be outdone, they were able to bring on fresh legs and pile on the pressure. They scored their second on 75 minutes, the ball smashing in off the Barton Keeper's face and found the equaliser nine minutes from time, a well headed goal from a corner. A frantic final few minutes made for an exciting finish to the game the draw being a fair result. Barton's player of the match, Shelly Norman. |
