Earls Barton 3 v Kettering Town Amazons 2
4th November 2007 |
|
Earls Barton had to work hard for their three points today but work hard they did and got the points they deserved in the end. Donna Norman, back from injury, scored the first on 22 minutes firing in from the edge of the area after the ball had been headed out from a corner. Both sides created further chances but the score remained the same at half time. Kettering scored early in the second half to bring the scores level before Katie York scored her second header of the season, nodding in from another corner ball. Kettering then piled on the pressure looking for a second equaliser and found it with an easy tap in on 69 minutes. Catherine Sealey, returning from a holiday in Mexico and a touch of deli-belly, came on for the last half hour and fired home the winning goal on 80 minutes. With a few key players missing and several players having to play in unfamiliar positions the team worked well for one another today and dug in and got the result. Player of the match voted by the opposition - Goal keeper Hollie McKain. Manager's player of the match - Jade Brayfield. |
