AFC Trinity 7 v Earls Barton 2

Earls Barton got off to the worst possible start today conceding 3 goals in the first 5 minutes, some slack defending and keeper errors costing us dearly. We then settled down a little but Trinity put another 2 past us before half time. Half time 5-0 With the game over at half time, it was just a case of starting again and trying to win the second half. Trinity put a dent in our plans with a goal almost immediately from kick off but we began to get our game together and on 53 minutes got a goal back, Sophie Barrett heading in from a free kick. On 82 minutes Barton were awarded a free kick on the edge of the area which Lauren Care sweetly struck into the goal off the right hand post. Trinity had the last word with their 7th goal right on the stroke of full time. Barton's player of the match today, voted by the opposition, Sophie Barrett. |
