Earls Barton finished off a very long season with a win over Woodford Ladies. Barton took some time to get going today and Woodford put on a good display and made life difficult for Barton. Donna Norman scored the first goal on 22 minutes after some neat passing between Lauren Care, Donna and Siana Adams which Donna finished off. Woodford looked more dangerous today than in the previous meeting just a fortnight ago and created equal number of chances in the first half, but neither side converting their chances. H-T 1-0 Amy Moore had several good chances to increase the lead for Barton but it was not until the 65th minute she finally found the back of the net. Siana Adams played a long ball out of defence for Amy to run onto and slot past the keeper. Not the best of performances today but a win is a win finishing off the season mid table, we now have something to work on for next season. Opposition's player of the match was awarded to Amy Moore, my personal vote goes to Donna Norman. |
