Earls Barton 17 v Moulton Ladies 1
15th March 2009 |
|
Earls Barton took an early lead with a goal from Amy Moore with just 3 minutes on the clock, this was quickly followed by two headed goals from corners by Jade Brayfield. Donna Norman then got in on the act with a good drive from 25 yards, Amy Moore slotting in no. 5 a minute later running on to a good through ball and slotting past the keeper. Donna Norman then scored two more, the first a low hard shot inside the near post and the next finishing off a good lay off from Amy Moore. Moulton then scored a breakaway goal to lift their spirits a little. Amy Moore added no. 8 just before half time chipping her shot over the keeper. Moulton obviously playing without a recognised keeper kept swapping the keeper shirt - not a position anyone wants to take on - but credit to them for at least having a go. The second half was much the same as the first. Amy Moore again scored first from inside the 6 yard box, Chelsea Carter scored her first goal for the Ladies with a close range effort from a Jade Brayfield cross then Jade scored a similar goal from a Lauren Care ball. Jade then turned provider for Donna Norman, cutting the ball back for Donna to finish which Jade followed up with a goal of her own 5 minutes later. Vicky Farmer had been desperate to score all game against her former club and finally found the back of the net 10 minutes before time latching onto a through ball from Donna, beating a couple of defenders and slotting past the keeper. Donna scored no 15 five minutes later hammering home from a misplaced goal kick, scored the penultimate goal 4 minutes later and in the dying moments substitute Siana Adams scored a beauty from 25 yards. Moulton started the game with 10 players but played the second half with only 9 which did not help their cause but well done to them for battling away. Barton's player of the match today - Jade Brayfield. (Scorers Amy Moore 4, Jade Brayfield 4, Donna Norman 6, Chelsea Carter, Siana Adams, Vicky Farmer) |
