Kettering Town Amazons 1 v Earls Barton 3

After two straight home defeats Earls Barton got back to winning ways with an away win at Kettering. Earls Barton took an early lead when Sinead Barry nodded in a precisely delivered corner from Lauren Care with just 6 minutes on the clock. Barton created further chances but could not find the all important second goal before Kettering scored the equaliser on 32 minutes. Four minutes later a free kick in the centre of the field was flicked on for Sinead Barry to slot past the keeper. Right on the stroke of half time Donna Norman's shot went through the keepers hands and crept over the line. After the break both teams created further chances but some fine goal keeping by the Kettering keeper and a much tighter Earls Barton defence this week meant the score remained the same at the final whistle. It was good to have our no.1 keeper back in goal this week, the defence was well led by our player of the match Shelley Norman and our new signing Taleisha Holder and Sinead Barry look as though they may well form a good partnership up front. |
