EARLS BARTON UNITED FOOTBALL CLUB

Kettering Town 12 v Earls Barton 0

League Cup

18th January 2009

Earls Barton's cup run came to an abrupt end today when they were drawn against top of the league Kettering Town. The game went to form with Kettering scoring 8 before the break and putting the game to bed before Barton started to play.

With the wind assisting Barton in the second half they made more of a game of it and did break into the final 3rd on several occasions but could not find a goal for their efforts. Kettering added another 4 in the second half to see them safely through to the next round.

Barton's player of the match today Amy Green, playing in goal - not her favoured position - but she did a grand job for the team. Special mention also today to Katie Newman who played her 100th game for Earls Barton today - both teams giving her a round of applause before the start of the game - which was a very nice gesture from the Kettering girls.
