AFC Trinity 10 v Earla Barton 2

The lack of a recognised goal keeper is costing Earls Barton big time this season and that is no disrespect to the volunteers who pull on the gloves every week for the sake of the team. Barton found themselves 3 goals down within the first 25 minutes but it had not been just one way traffic, Megan Roberts had a couple of efforts before she pulled one back, Lauren Perkins played the ball over the defence for Megan to run onto and chip the ball over the advancing keeper. Trinity then scored 3 more in quick succession before Emmie Hardy played the ball through the defence for Megan to run onto and slot past the keeper. Trinity scored again 5 minutes before the break. H-T 7-2 Despite the scoreline Barton played some good football out on the pitch and came close to pegging back a couple more goals, but Trinity were able to add another 3 in the second half to run out comfortable winners 10-2. Player of the match for Barton, voted by the opposition, Emmie Hardyand the Barton management team gave the award to Lauren Perkins. |
