Daventry Town Reserves 5 v Earla Barton 2

With several regular first teamers missing we new it was going to be a bit of a struggle today. Daventry took the lead after 16 minutes and doubled the score 20 minutes later. Barton never really tested the Daventry keeper in the first half, missing the speed of our front runner Amy Moore who was laid up with the flue, just a few long range efforts. H-T 2-0 Daventry scored almost immediately from the restart but credit to the Barton girls they kept plugging away. Daventry scored their fourth on 60 minutes but Barton fought back and Omiette McKie scored her first goal for the ladies, when her free kick was deflected into the net. Daventry scored no 5 before Barton's Jenna Looker scrambled the ball into the net with the last kick of the game. Well done to the girls that had to fill the gaps today, lets hope for a stronger squad next week when we entertain AFC Trinity at The Grange.
