Earls Barton 0 v Bedford Town Girls 5

Earls Barton were under the cosh for much of this game today and with regular defenders missing and only 11 players available the task was made more difficult. Bedford took the lead after 15 minutes and made it 2-0 on 30 minutes with several other shots saved by Katie Newman in between. H-T 0-2 Bedford scored another early in the second half to make the game safe but Barton kept plugging away and created a couple of chances of their own albeit never really threatening the Bedford keeper. Bedford scored another two to make the final score 0-5. Despite the loss there were some good performances today, Kelly Hewitt was more like her old self working hard to try and create something up front, Katie Newman pulled off several fine saves and was a strong contender for player of the match once again, but today I am going to give the player of the match award to, Gina Loziou for her performance in defence, making some crucial tackles at the right time and running the ball out of defence and turning defence into an attacking situation. |
