EARLS BARTON UNITED FOOTBALL CLUB

Thorplands 5 v Earla Barton 2

7th February 2010

Thorplands took an early lead after just 5 minutes with a great strike but Barton drew level 6 minutes later when Lauren Perkins shot through a defenders legs, through a crowded penalty area and into the corner of the net. It was quite an even battle on a bobbly pitch but Thorplands regained the lead on 32 minutes to make the score 2-1 at half time.

After the break Thorplands added another 3 with Barton's only reply being a deflected shot from Jade Brayfield which had to go down as an own goal.
The game was held up for approx 10 minutes through an injury to one of the Barton defenders, who was taken to hospital with a suspected broken wrist.
The difference in the two teams today, Thorplands were stronger on the ball and clearing the ball out of defence.

Despite the result there were some good performances Chelsea Carter was voted Player of the Match by the Barton Manager and Lisa Lyman was voted player of the match by the opposition.
