Earls Barton put up a better fight this time round but were still no match for league champions Abington. Abington were 3-0 up inside 25 minutes but Barton did manage to create a few chances of their own and even scored a goal, Megan Roberts firing home from 25 yards just before half time, a 30th birthday present for manager Ben Foster. After the break Abington scored quite freely to finish off a great season for them and one that Barton will be glad is over and look forward to regrouping and start afresh next season. The league officials presented Abington with their trophies at the end of the game, congratulations to them, and we wish them well in the East Midlands league next season. |
