EARLS BARTON UNITED FOOTBALL CLUB

Rothwell Town 9 v Earla Barton 0

11th April 2010

Earls Barton started the game brightly and for 30 minutes it was quite an even game, Rothwell finally breaking the deadlock on 33 minutes. Seven minutes later Barton's luck and game changed completely. The keeper came out to spread herself at the feet of the oncoming striker and in doing so received a nasty knock to the head which resulted in her having a 'golf ball' for an eye and having to be taken off, to add insult to injury the goal stood.

With no subs, one of the defenders went in goal and Barton had to reshuffle. Unfortunately from then on it was hard to get the ball out of our own half and with 10 players and a stand in keeper Rothwell made the most of it and ran out comfortable winners.

Performances of note today, Jenna Looker did well coming back from recent injury, Sam Clarke in goal was having a good game until her injury, Megan Roberts probed and probed but could not find the goal but overall player of the match was Lisa Lyman who ran her socks off and even came back on after picking up an injury for the sake of the team.
