EARLS BARTON UNITED FOOTBALL CLUB

Earla Barton 2 v AFC Trinity 6

11th October 2009

Trinity got off to a flying start with two goals within the first 6 minutes of the game, stand in keeper Leanne Mayes had barely got her gloves on before she was picking the ball out of the back of the net. Barton pulled one back through Amy Moore on 22 minutes, Chelsea Carter crossing for Amy to control and fire high into the far corner of the net. Trinity scored a third just before the break.

H-T 1-3

Ten minutes into the second half Trinity scored their fourth but Barton replied almost immediately when Jenna Looker ran onto a ball that bounced over the defence, Jenna rounded the keeper and slotted the ball into an empty net. Trinity went on to score a further two goals to make the game safe.

Barton again had to rely on a 'volunteer' to go in goal with no recognised keeper available, and had several new players out on the pitch today. The signs are good for the future once the new girls get to know one another better and play together as a team rather than as individuals.

Player of the match voted by the opposition was Amy Moore, Manager's player of the match Tash Smith, with a special thanks to Leanne Mayes who pulled on the keeper jersey for the sake of the team and didn't do a bad job.
