Kettering Town Amazons 2 v Earla Barton 3

Earls Barton got the season off to a good start with 3 points at Kettering. Amy Moore broke the deadlock on 25 minutes running on to a through ball, her first effort being saved by the keeper who was not able to hold onto it and Amy tapped in the rebound. Ten minutes later Amy received a good ball down the left from Emmi Hardy, Amy took the ball down the wing and crossed into the box for Megan Roberts to blast high into the net giving the keeper no chance. Kettering pulled one back 5 minutes before half time. H-T 1-2 Barton knew the next goal was vital and Amy Moore scored probably the best goal of the game when she collected the ball on the right wing and fired the ball into the far corner of the net. Kettering pulled another goal back on 80 minutes but Barton were able to hold out for the last 10 minutes and take home all 3 points. With lots of new players from last season this was a good team performance all round, Jade Brayfield getting the MOM vote from the opposition and Emmie Hardy being my pick of the bunch this week. |
