EARLS BARTON UNITED FOOTBALL CLUB

Kettering Town Ladies 1st 10 v Earla Barton 0

County Cup (Round 2)

15th November 2009

Earls Barton were drawn away to Kettering Town's first team in round 2 of the County Cup today and found it hard going. For the first 25 minutes or so Barton held their own, apart from one silly slip up on 10 minutes which allowed Kettering in to score an easy goal, and even created a few chances, one notable one when Amy Moore hit the bar, but as the game wore on Kettering's strength took over and the game was all but over by half time with the score at 5-0.

Kettering scored again within a couple of minutes of the restart and added another 4 without Barton really troubling their keeper in the second half.

I would also like to thank the ref Gary Bindley who handled the game very well.

Barton have a week off from league action next weekend so a couple of training sessions to try and get the team back on track.

Positives to come out of the game, Emmie Hardy continues to shine in midfield, Lisa Layman has shown she will be a good asset to the team when fully fit, and Natasha Smith put in another player of the match performance in defence.
