Earls Barton took on Woodford today in the first round of the Women's County Cup. Barton took an early lead when Amy Moore scored her first of a hat trick. Lauren Perkins made it 2-0 after 35 minutes with a beautiful strike from the edge of the 18 yard box. Three minutes later Amy made it 3-0 when she ran onto a pass down the left side and shot past the keeper. Woodford pulled one back just before the break. H-T 3-1 Five minutes into the second half Lauren Perkins played the ball through for Amy to run onto and fire across the goal into the net at the far post. Ten minutes later Megan Roberts made the tie safe when she shot high into the roof of the net, again being played in by Lauren Perkins. Barton have a very new team, who at the moment are playing too much as individuals, once they play more as a team their rewards will come. Player of the match today for Barton, Lauren Perkins. |
