Another close affair between these two teams with Earls Barton taking the points on this occasion. It took a while for the deadlock to be broken, Earls Barton hitting the post before Kettering scored on 38 minutes with a very scrappy goal. The ball bouncing around in the area with several defenders attempting to clear it before a Kettering player got a foot in and prodded it past the keeper. H-T 0-1 Barton had the wind behind their backs in the second half as Kettering had in the first and so it was Barton's turn to pressure the Kettering goal. On 50 minutes Donna Norman scored the equaliser, picking up on a missed placed goal kick and slotting past the keeper. Barton created more chances in the second half, the keeper making one exceptional save, before Donna Norman scored her second and winning goal, latching onto a through ball from sister Shelley and placing it past the keeper. Bit of a scrappy performance from the Earls Barton Ladies today but the all important result. Player of Match for Earls Barton, Donna Norman, who scored 2 and came very close to completing the hat trick. |
