Earls Barton 2 v AFC Trinity 6

Earls Barton played top of the Table AFC Trinity today, and with only 10 players available it was always going to be hard work. Trinity took the lead on 15 minutes and scored a second 10 minutes later but Barton did not fall apart but dug in deep and pulled a goal back on 30 minutes. Katie York picked up the ball on the left wing, played it inside to Donna Norman who took it round the keeper and slotted it into the net. An unfortunate own goal 5 minutes later was not really what Barton needed and another Trinity goal looked as though they would really pull away but again Barton rallied and Donna Norman got her second of the match just before half time, Siana Adams this time the provider with a good ball from the right for Donna to finish. H-T 2-4 Barton spent most of the second half defending with the extra player advantage really starting to tell. Trinity scored 2 more goals quite early in the second half and missed a hat full of chances, but credit to the Earls Barton Ladies who worked really hard for one another and were not disgraced by the score line. Siana Adams was voted player of the match by the opposition, Lauren Care had a fine game on the left wing but my overall player of the match was Donna Norman. |
