Woodford Ladies 0 v Earls Barton 5
26th April 2009 |
|
Although Barton could only field 10 players they totally dominated the first half but were unable to find the back of the net until the 28th minute when they were awarded a penalty for a foul on Amy Moore. Amy picked herself and the ball up and coolly slotted the penalty past the keeper. Barton created plenty of chances but some good goal keeping, the woodwork and some wayward shots meant the score remained 0-1 at half time. Barton knew they would tire in the second half being a player short and needed to get a second goal quickly to settle things down. Amy Moore got that all important goal on 58 minutes chipping the ball over the keeper's head from just outside the 18 yard box. Katie York scored no. 3 from inside the 6 yard box and was very unlucky not to add to that a few minutes later when she rifled a shot from the right which hit the far left goal post. Lauren Care played in a good cross from the left for Donna Norman to poke the ball past the advancing keeper for no. 4 and Amy Moore rounded off the game with her hat trick in the last minute, Donna Norman cutting the ball back for Amy to slot past the keeper. Woodford voted Jade Brayfield as our player of the match, I would have to give that award to Donna Norman. |
