Corby S & L 2 v Earls Barton 2
29th March 2009 |
|
Earls Barton played the first 35 minutes of this game with just 10 players because the goal keeper had forgotten to put her clock forward and had to make a mad dash from Milton Keynes once she realised her mistake. But in stepped Siana Adams to fill the gap and a fine job she did too. Barton didn't quite hold out until the keeper arrived, Corby scoring on 28 minutes. H-T 1-0 Barton knew they could bet back into the game now that the numbers were even and Donna Norman equalised on 52 minutes, Siana Adams now playing in her familiar role up front, layed off a perfectly weighted ball for Donna to drive low and hard from the edge of the area past the diving keeper. Corby caused the Barton defence problems with their long balls over the top to their front two and took the lead again on 72 minutes. Barton fought back again, Amy Moore received the ball from a throw in on the right and placed a left foot curler inside the far post. Corby thought they had won the game in the last minute when a lofted cross went over the Barton keeper and a Corby player standing on the line touched the ball into the net, unfortunately for her she was clearly offside. F-T 2-2 Both managers went home happy with a point. Player of the match for Barton today, has to go to birthday girl Siana Adams, who not only pulled on the keeper shirt in our hour of need but also set up the equalising goal for Donna Norman. Well done Siana and Happy Birthday. |
