EARLS BARTON UNITED FOOTBALL CLUB

Moulton Fields 0 v Earls Barton 0

29th November 2008

The result suggests this was a boring 0-0 draw but it was far from that. Two fairly even sides battled well to try and win the game but neither side could find the all important goal, partly down to poor finishing and partly down to good defending. Even a penalty awarded to Moulton could not break the deadlock, the ball being blasted high over the bar.

At the final whistle both teams went home happy with a point apiece, it would have been rough justice on either team to have lost in the dying minutes.

Barton played some good football today, knocking it around well, but just need to be a bit stronger challenging for the ball and sharper in front of goal.

The defence did particularly well today soaking up any pressure Moulton tried to apply, Amy Green had a good game in goal, keeping a clean sheet and it was nice to welcome back Mel McIvor who has been out since the start of the season with a fractured ankle.

Overall my player of the match award goes to Annalea Granger in the center of defence.
