Peterborough broke the deadlock on 14 minutes and added another 3 before half time making them think they had the game won and were just going to add to the score in the second half. But Barton had other ideas and with 2 goals shortly after the break it was game on. Unfortunately for Barton they conceded another almost immediately after scoring their second and each time they reduced the arrears Peterborough stroke back to make the second half a very entertaining 4-4 draw.

Had Barton started the first half in the same manner as the second, they may have had more chance of getting something from the game. Having said that the girls are beginning to play some good football, not just kick and rush, and working hard for one another.

Goal scorers for Barton today were Megan Watkins with 3 and Emily Baldry, got one, her reward for her battling player of the match performance in the centre of midfield.

Other notable performances today: Kerry Lawrence had a good game in defence, alongside Gina Loziou, Alix Daverson had another good performance on the right wing and Ashleigh Goodman did well alongside Megan Watkins up front.
