The EBUFC Under 12’s are playing their first competitive season and have gotten off to an absolute flyer – already sitting 2nd in the league and having recently thundered through the next round of the County Cup courtesy of a 12-0 away win versus Desborough. For some of these lads – most of whom have been playing together for three years under the management of Kirk Thompson – have found the
transition to competitive football easier than others but one lad in particular has been in devastating form since the first kick off – but even more so in the month of October.
Joe Halton (previously described as a right footed midfielder but now more than able to use both feet!) has taken to the league and cup formats this season with enthusiasm, skill and, above all, dedication.
Joe possess amongst the quickest feet you could imagine, his close control, ability to turn a player and reach seemingly impossible balls are a testament to the lad’s natural sense of balance and ability as they are to the way in which he has taken to being coached. From a management perspective, we’ve lost count of the amount of jaw dropping moments of individual skill he has produced as he skips away yet again form his marker.
Of the 5 games played in October – 4 in the League and 1 in the League Cup – Joe has able to play in 4. In those games, he registered 4 goals and 2 Man of the Match performances, whilst also being in the vote running in the remaining two games.
However, it would be easy to simply praise joe for his football – off the pitch he is one of the nicest lads you could want to coach – clearly wants to learn, seems to improve during every session/game and never stops giving his all – it’s a testament to his parents that Joe is such a well-rounded lad.
If Joe continues to develop as he has it will only be a matter of when rather than if he can take his football further but for now its great to see him in such sparkling form.
Congratulations Joe on being the club – that’s across ALL teams – Player of the month for October 2016.
Joe was nominated by his Coach and a number of supporters – get your nominations and votes in for your EBUFC Player for November by the end of the first week of December!
